Deliverance: The Freedom Jesus Already Paid For

Understanding the Authority of the Believer Over Darkness
Culled from the teachings of Rev. Olusola Areogun and Rev. Oyenike Areogun
Deliverance Is Not Optional — It Is Part of Salvation
Many believers think deliverance is a rare spiritual event reserved only for extreme cases. But according to Scripture and the teachings of Daddy and Mummy, deliverance is an integral part of the salvation package.
The Bible says:
Colossians 1:13 (KJV)
“Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son.”
This means that when Jesus saved you, He did not only forgive your sins — He also broke the authority of darkness over your life.
Deliverance is not merely a church activity.
Deliverance is the enforcement of your redemption rights in Christ.
Why Many Believers Still Experience Oppression
One of the most important truths Daddy emphasizes is this:
A believer cannot be possessed by demons, but a believer can experience oppression if doors remain open.
The Bible shows that demonic activity operates at different levels:
Oppression – external attacks affecting circumstances or the body
Obsession – attacks on the mind, emotions, and thoughts
Possession – control of the human spirit
A born-again believer’s spirit belongs to God, but the soul and body must still be renewed and disciplined.
This is why some Christians struggle with:
recurring sickness
destructive habits
fear and mental torment
generational patterns
persistent spiritual attacks
Deliverance addresses these areas.
Mercy Interrupts the Operations of Darkness
One of the most powerful revelations from the teachings is this:
Mercy is a divine interruption.
Mercy is not just sympathy from God.
Mercy is God stepping into a situation and stopping what the enemy has been doing.
Where darkness has been operating unchecked, mercy enters and changes the story.
Deliverance is often the manifestation of God’s mercy enforcing your freedom.
The Three Doors the Enemy Uses
Deliverance teaching reveals that the enemy often gains access through specific doors.
1. Sin
Sin opens doors to spiritual oppression.
When Adam sinned, the first emotion he experienced was fear.
2. Ignorance
The Bible says:
Hosea 4:6
“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.”
Many believers suffer not because the devil is powerful but because they do not understand their authority in Christ.
3. Demonic Agreements
Sometimes people or their families have been involved in:
occult practices
rituals
strange spiritual covenants
ancestral traditions tied to darkness
These agreements must be renounced and broken.
The Bible shows believers in Ephesus who:
confessed their deeds
renounced occult practices
destroyed occult materials
And then freedom came.
The Pattern for True Deliverance
A clear biblical sequence for deliverance.
1. Salvation
True deliverance begins with surrender to Jesus.
2. Confession
Hidden things must come into the light.
3. Renunciation
Every agreement with darkness must be rejected.
4. Resistance
Believers must actively resist the devil.
5. Renewal
The mind must be renewed with the Word of God.
Deliverance is not only about casting out demons.
It is about establishing truth in the believer’s life.
Why Deliverance Sometimes Appears Repeated
Jesus warned about this:
Luke 11:24–26
When a spirit leaves a person but the life remains empty, the spirit may return with more demons.
This means freedom must be maintained.
A believer must fill their life with:
the Word of God
the Holy Spirit
prayer
righteous living
spiritual discipline
When the enemy returns and finds a life filled with God, he cannot re-enter.
The Three Confessions That Build Spiritual Authority
Every believer must rebuild their spiritual language around three truths.
I AM
Your identity in Christ.
I am born again
I am a child of God
I am redeemed
I HAVE
Your inheritance in Christ.
I have authority over demons
I have the life of God
I have the Holy Spirit
I CAN
Your capacity in Christ.
I can resist the devil
I can overcome temptation
I can walk in victory
When these truths are established in your heart, the devil loses his ability to dominate your life.
Deliverance Is the Children’s Bread
Jesus revealed a powerful truth:
Matthew 15:26
“It is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it to dogs.”
Deliverance belongs to the children of God.
It is part of your inheritance.
You are not meant to live under oppression, fear, or bondage.
Jesus came for one purpose:
1 John 3:8
“For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.”
Your Journey After Deliverance
Every believer moves through three stages:
Victim of the devil
Delivered by Christ
Deliverer helping others find freedom
God does not only want you free.
He wants you to become an agent of freedom for others.
Final Word
The church is not only a place of worship.
The church is God’s rescue agency on the earth.
Jesus did not save you to remain a victim.
He saved you to walk in liberty, authority, and victory.
And today you can declare boldly:
No vacancy for the devil in my life.
No vacancy in my family.
No vacancy in my generation.
Salvation Prayer
If you are not yet born again, true deliverance begins with surrendering your life to Jesus.
Pray this sincerely:
“Lord Jesus, I come to You today.
I confess that I am a sinner and I need Your salvation.
I believe that You died for my sins and rose again for my justification.
Today I repent of my sins and receive You as my Lord and Savior.
I renounce every work of darkness and surrender my life completely to You.
Thank You for saving me.
From today I belong to Jesus.
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
