There are men God works with, and there are men God will not work with.
This is not because God is unwilling, but because the state of a man’s heart determines his usefulness in the hands of God.

Let us look into the Scriptures to understand this clearly.

📖 Ezekiel 14:1–4 (KJV)

The Bible tells us that certain elders of Israel came to inquire of the Lord. To people watching, it appeared they were seeking divine direction. But the Lord said, “These men have set up idols in their heart.”

They already knew what they wanted. They only came so that God would endorse it.

God said, “Should I be enquired of at all by them?”

Meaning:
“Why ask Me when you have already decided?”

WHEN A MAN APPROACHES GOD WITH A DECISION ALREADY MADE

A person may appear prayerful and still be stubborn in heart.
They may say, “Lord, show me Your will,” yet hope God will simply bless what they already desire.

Many believers try to use prayer to bend God into approving their will.
But God does not only listen to prayers — He weighs motives.

The man God will work with is the man who can say:

“Lord, if Your will is different from mine, I choose Yours.”

That is the attitude that gives God room to lead.

LEARN FROM BALAAM

When Balak sent for Balaam to curse Israel, God said:

“Do not go. They are blessed.”

But Balaam’s heart leaned toward the reward and recognition.
So he returned to “ask again,” hoping God would adjust His will.

When a man insists strongly on his own way, God may permit him — not as approval, but as discipline by experience.

There is a difference between:

• God sending you, and

• God allowing you to go because you insisted.

One has grace.
The other has consequences.

Any desire that blinds your spiritual sense is dangerous.

THE MOST COMMON AREA OF SELF-WILL: RELATIONSHIPS

Many say, “Lord, lead me,” but deep inside they have already chosen who they want to marry.

They are no longer seeking direction — they are seeking endorsement.

God’s refusal is never to hurt you — it is to protect you.
If God says “No,” it means danger is ahead.

The man God works with is the man who can genuinely say:
“Yes, Lord,” before the instruction is given.

THE SECRET OF DIVINE PARTNERSHIP

God works with the:
• Teachable
• Yielded
• Humble
• Correctable
• Surrendered

The safest place in destiny is not where you prefer — but where God appoints.

Say continually:
“Lord, Your will is my safety and my joy.”

This is the man God will back.
This is the man God will defend.
This is the man God will use.

“Lord, I surrender my will to You.
Your desire is my desire.
Your path is my path.
I am the man that You will work with.”

Father, deliver me from every hidden idol of self-will.
Give me a heart that is quick to say, “Yes, Lord.”
Lead me in Your will and preserve my feet from error.
Help me to love Your will above my desires.
Keep my spirit tender, my ears open, and my steps aligned with Your purpose.
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
