The School of the Calling – Day 1 Highlights

By Reverend Olusola Areogun
📅 Thursday, 1st May 2025

As we commenced this sacred journey in the School of the Calling 2025, it is clear again that answering God’s call is not a casual endeavour. It is the highest honour that can be given to any human being: The Heavenly Calling.

Below are the powerful highlights and apostolic instructions from Day 1, which I urge every serious-hearted follower of Christ to meditate deeply on and align their lives with.

🔥 FOUNDATIONS FOR SUCCESS IN THE CALLING

  1. You must be a student of Jesus Christ and Apostle Paul. These are our perfect and human examples of men who finished their course with passion and integrity.
  2. The highest call God can place on a man is the Heavenly Call. There is no higher purpose.
  3. How you perceive the Call determines how you pursue it. Misperception leads to misdirection.
  4. It takes the devil—or human ego—to mislead people into misunderstanding the Bible. Be humble and teachable.
  5. The fuel of our life in the Calling is to do the will of Him that sent us and to finish it. That’s the definition of fulfilment.

🔒 WHO IS A PRISONER OF THE CALLING?

  1. A prisoner of the calling is a man overtaken and possessed by his divine assignment.
  2. You can only see correctly if you know where you are in your calling. Spiritual positioning determines clarity.
  3. There is no such thing as a “prosperity message.” Most of what is called so is simply error rooted in fundraising by people doing what God never sent them to do.
  4. If you must borrow or go into debt to do “God’s work,” stop. It is either not time yet or you are using the wrong strategy.
  5. Nobody graduates from being a beneficiary of the Calling.
  6. You will never outgrow the need for ministries to bless you.

🧱 THE MAKING OF DISCIPLES

  1. A disciple is one who is understudying the Master to step into His shoes one day.
  2. Disciples of the Calling must end up as masters in that same calling.
  3. Beware of putting your comfort above your Calling. That is compromise.
  4. Though the world is filled with unconscious teachers, don’t be an unconscious student. Be aware. Be intentional.
  5. Let nothing break your focus or separate you as a disciple of the Calling.

👣 FOLLOWING EXAMPLES AND GUARDING YOUR FOCUS

  1. God will give you good examples to follow, but many follow fame instead. It takes patience to judge the true fruit.
  2. Live as an example of righteousness, not a warning sign for others.
  3. Popularity does not equal rightness. Don’t build confidence on visible success.
  4. When politics mixes with the pulpit, the pulpit always gets stained.
  5. When ministers use the Calling to chase what the Master refused—celebrity circles, self-promotion—they are abusing the Calling.

⚠️ STAY PURE IN THE CALLING

  1. Don’t do ministry out of obligation. Receive your Calling directly from God.
  2. When you become a prisoner of the Calling, nothing in this world can grip your soul—no fame, no pleasure.
  3. Live for eternity, not popularity.
  4. There is a way to run that ensures you obtain. Run your race in that way!
  5. Intentional disciples of the Calling are the ones who receive double portions.
  6. If you don’t become a prisoner of the Calling, you will be a prisoner of something less.
  7. Prisoners of the Calling are at the beck and call of divine assignments.
  8. Men who become prisoners of the Calling never truly die. They live forever—in legacy, in impact, in heaven’s records.

🧭 POSITIONS PEOPLE HOLD WITH THE CALLING

  1. Positions with the Calling:
  • Beneficiaries/Partakers: Everyone starts here.
  • Users of the Calling
  • Abusers of the Calling
  • Debtors to the Calling
  • Enemies of the Calling
  • Disciples of the Calling
  • Prisoners of the Calling – The highest and most faithful rank.

🚨 ENEMIES OF THE CALLING

  1. Categories of enemies that come to knock you off the Calling:
  • (a) Mockers of the Calling
  • (b) Despisers of the Calling
  • (c) Antagonists of the Calling (often religious people) – Paul started here, then became a champion
  • (d) Killers of the Calling – e.g., Jezebel. Even a genuine minister can kill the calling in others through envy or control.

This is just Day 1. We are laying foundation stones that will define destinies and shape eternities.
Take your position—not as a visitor, not as a bystander, not as a user—but as a disciple and ultimately a prisoner of the Heavenly Calling.

May the Lord grip your soul and capture your heart for this sacred purpose.
See you in Day 2, if Jesus tarries.

Grace to you,
